I am an addict who is in recovery, I struggled with drug addiction for over 20 years, with many failed attempts at getting clean, Failure to do this resulted in a cycle of numerous court appearances and prison sentences. It wasn’t until I was given a last chance by a sympathetic judge who sentenced me to rehab rather than prison that my life changed. I came to east coast recovery in 2017 and my life changed, I was shown love and kindness and taken through the 12 Steps programme then I finally understood what I suffered from.

I love my role as it gives me a purpose in life, I love helping people as I

genuinely understand what they are going through,

It is such a wonderful feeling to see people who are broken like I was, get their lives back and become valuable members of society again, this creates a ripple effect so their families also reap the benefit of their recovery.
