This is a completely normal reaction that many people feel when reaching out for help for the first time. Our Treatment Advisors are there to support you in your first brave step towards creating a positive change for yourself or a loved one. Understanding what's involved and the process can help relieve anxiety and provide reassurance.

An overview of the treatment process

Treatment is not a one-size-fits-all process. Everyone requires unique care based on what substance(s) they’re addicted to. Factors to consider would be: how long they’ve been in active addiction, whether they have other mental health diagnosis or any other health conditions alongside their substance abuse. We also take into consideration personal preferences, finding what is best for the individual; whether that is residential or outpatient treatment as well as different types of therapy. So while our addiction treatment process is consistent for all of our clients, the care we provide throughout is tailored to suit every individuals needs..

Free Assessment

Our Treatment Advisors are on-hand every day from 8.00am to 10pm, and will be able to answer any questions with total confidentiality. What our treatment advisors want to do is paint a picture of each individuals situation. They will ask a series of questions to better determine specific needs so that they can bespoke a programme of treatment. Many substances can cause physical dependence and withdrawals if removed without professional supervision. These withdrawals can sometimes be life-threatening if guidance isn't followed correctly. Feeling concerned? Please get in contact with our fully trained treatment advisors who can support you through the process.

Therapy

A stay in residential rehab will often include therapy as part of a treatment programme. These therapies may vary to incorporate a combination of group and 1-2-1 therapies to suit specific requirements. Common therapies used in addiction treatment are 12-step work, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy and psychoeducational groups. If residential rehab is not an option a mixture of a Home Detox (if appropriate) and Online Therapy could provide an alternative solution.

Transitioning back to life outside treatment

After a stay in a rehab facility, returning to the pressures of everyday life might seem stressful and upsetting – but don’t worry many residential rehabs will support with this adjustment. The transition can be a difficult one, but many treatment facilities offer an aftercare programme which includes keeping in touch. Alternatively, if the chosen route of treatment is a combination of home detox and online therapy there is also further support to aid long-term recovery. Information about fellowships and useful contacts will also be provided.
